Volunteers Needed

6 July, 2010 - 17:47

Following the exciting launch of our bid at Eastercon in April, we are now going to put the "World" part of the Worldcon bid into action. We will have a presence at ReConStruction, the NASFiC in Raleigh, North Carolina in the USA, and at Aussiecon 4, this year's Worldcon in Melbourne.

At both these conventions we will staff a London in 2014 information table and also host parties.

If you are going to either of these conventions, and you might be able to make some time to help, please let us know at .

If you will have an hour or two to work at our information table -- brilliant! We also need help to set up, host and tear down the parties. There will be a London in 2014 Bid party at each convention, and also we will be helping with a party promoting UK fan activities.

It would help greatly if you could sign up by email to in advance of the convention, but you can also pop by our convention table on the day and claim an hour on the timesheet.

Send us a note if you might have time to help us at either the NASFiC or Aussiecon 4, and we'll keep you posted about our plans.

Also, if you have not yet pre-supported the convention, you can do so on our website.

Orycon

I would be willing to help you staff a table at Orycon.

Just for background, those are the folks (OSFCI) who are hosting Renovation in Reno next year. There just wasn't room to hold a worldcon in Portland, so they rented space in Reno. Attendance at Orycon is normally 1500 or 2000 fans. A bid presence at Orycon would give you a running start at Renovation.

Fan tables are free if you ask for one before they are all used up. Hanging a banner is $25.

Sorry, I will not have time to help with a bid party.
